This is Christmas Town to us

Yes 99.9% of the store is breakable. Therefore we opted for two SEPARATE strollers today. We wanted to minimize the damage. It worked out well. Mia just sat back and looked at everything. Ethan was able to get in & out as he pleased.

Ethan sits on Santa's lap

Yes Santa, I've been a very good boy this year!

Santa explains that he has 3 keys: One to unlock the chimneys & doors to deliver toys, one for the toyshop & Reindeer barns, and one to unlock your heart so the magic and love of Christmas can come in and fill it up

Mia has a Santa meltdown

Ok I've got myself back together now...all is well

The black Christmas tree

Look Mama! We found a Guatemalan flag here! Who would have thought a Christmas store would have one???!!

They had fun waving their flags, but got them taken away because they then turned them in "swords"

The giant Santa waves good to us. See you next year Santa!

Today we went to see Santa at the world's largest Christmas store, Bronner's. When we stepped inside Ethan's jaw dropped and his eyes grew. He was in amazement of everything. First thing we did was visit Santa. Ethan sat on his lap but Mia wanted nothing to do with him. Once we were done with that we started looking around. Halfway through the store Ethan was a little concerned because he forgot to ask Santa for something. We asked what it was he forgot to ask for. He said socks, underwear, and undershirts. (Hey... he's practical) We told him that we would write Santa a letter and explain that he forgot to ask for them. It took us 2 & 1/2 hours to make it through the store. They have anything and everything related to Christmas. (Including a black Christmas tree??) After that we went to dinner at Zhender's for their famous chicken. All of ate so much we were miserable. We drove around downtown Frankenmuth to look at the decorations then headed home. It was such a fun day! Seeing the joy & excitement in Ethan and Mia makes me realize how blessed we are to have them in our lives. It also makes me wonder how did I find this joy before they came along?

A Friday of Firsts

Today we had two firsts at our house. Ethan went to the dentist for the the first time & Mia got her first hair cut. Both events went quite well. Ethan was first and just loved sitting in the chair holding the suction tube. When he was done he told Dr. Larry he was going to be a independent dentist like Herbie from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Then Mia was up. She just sat on Amy's lap and enjoyed being fussed over. (Boy is she all girl or what???) We just trimmed her hair so everything was more even. With the way times goes by before you know it we will be getting first cars:(

The Christmas glow is here

Daddy's little helper

Well it's official....it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Steve & Ethan finished putting out the lights this week so we are set. Now we just have to shop..(Amy's department:) We didn't get in line this morning to shop. I believe shopping is a non contact sport.....and didn't want to go into the "battlefield". But we still hope to snap up some good deals! Happy shopping to all!!

Gobble till you Wobble

Mia watches her first Thanksgiving Day Parade in awe

Happy Thanksgiving

Miss Mia in her holiday attire

Gobble till you wobble

Where's the pumpkin pie???

Ethan's food coma brought him to the floor

Today we give thanks to the Lord for all our blessings. Amongst the plates full of turkey, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie, we took time to acknowledge all that we are thankful for. We are thankful for our family and friends. The love and support they have shown and given us over this past year has been incredible. They have all been there for us along Mia's adoption journey. Often we all asked "Are we there yet?"......but didn't have an answer. We never imagined how emotional the roller coaster ride was going to be. But today we give thanks that the journey has ended and Mia is now home. We now look forward to our first Christmas as a family of four and any other new adventures we may encounter. Thank you to all of our family and friends for all that you do. We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and gobbled till you wobbled:)

FFF Christmas Photo Edition

Tuesday we went for our Christmas pictures. It was rough with Mia. First off our appointment was at 7:00pm, yes I know it is late but it was the only opening they had. Then Mia wouldn't sit still long enough to take pictures and she wouldn't smile. So this year Mia won't be smiling in our Christmas cards, oh well maybe next year. Ethan on the other hand was a HAM!!!! He loved smiling for the camera, can you tell we have him trained:) Yes our Christmas tree is up (it was up on November 3) and we are finishing the outside lights. We do it this early so we can enjoy it and we don't feel so rushed around the holidays. Yes we know we are crazy...but we have seen other houses decorated too:)
