Happy Birthday Ethan!

I can't believe that this is happening, but our little man turns 4 years old today. It just doesn't seem possible! Where does the time go? I seems like yesterday that we saw his referral picture and fell in love. This past year has been the most enjoyable by far with Ethan. He really has become quite the character. From wearing big boy underwear to his first day of preschool he really has grown up. It won't be long before we post happy 18th birthday:) Since Mia's birthday is in a few weeks and we will be on vacation we are celebrating both of their birthdays with a pirate themed party on Sunday. We hope the weather cooperates because we are renting a bouncer house. More pictures to come after the party.

Happy 4th Birthday Ethan, we love you so much!

Watch out Ashley.....Mia is learning some new photo tricks!

Happy Memorial Day! Unfortunately we both had to work this weekend, so we couldn't do a whole lot. Today when we got home from work the weather was finally warm enough to put on shorts. (Now I just have to work on my tan:) We played in the back yard for a bit (until the mosquitoes came out). Ethan played with blue chalk and put "eyeshadow" on. Mia now has a fascination with cameras and likes to take pictures of her babies. Even though our time at home was limited this holiday weekend we still had a great time. We also want to thank all of the veterans for what they have done for our country. Their sacrifices help make America what it is today. Hope you all had lots of hot dogs, potato salad, and corn on the cob this Memorial Day!

Underwear & Graduation

Munching Mia

Lue & Alan

We all so proud of you Alan!

Showing off is underwear to the class of 2008!

Thursday we went to Alan's graduation. Alan has been like a little brother to us for many years. Amy used to babysit him when she was in high school and now Alan watches Ethan & Mia. (Boy does that make us feel old!) The kids did pretty good. Mia just ate her way through the ceremony...eating 2 bags of crackers, 1 bag of granola snacks and some freeze dried bananas. Ethan read some books then got into the diaper bag and found an extra pair of underwear we had in there for him. In the middle of the ceremony he pulled them out to show everyone. I could have crawled under a rock. Oh well, what are you going to do???

Singing in the Rain

While we were at Greenfield Village for our day our with Thomas, the rain came for a bit. We had bought umbrellas to use. I was a little nervous about letting Ethan use one. Ethan held onto the handle and thought he was pretty hot stuff. The boys had some good old fashion fun just singing in the rain!

Busy, Busy, Busy

The past few weeks have been CRAZY around here. It seems as if we are going non stop. May 3rd we went to Greenfield Village to see Thomas the Tank Engine. May 8th Ethan had a school field trip to the zoo. May 11th we had Amy's family over for Mother's Day. May 15th was Ethan's end of school program and this past weekend was Amy's dance recital. Throw in Ethan's swim lessons and soccer games and that's been our last few weeks, but we wouldn't change it for the world. When you see your child's face light up with joy it just melts your heart. Whether it be singing a song for you, floating on their back for the first time, or seeing their favorite character in person, when your child's face lights up with joy and their smile goes ear to ear it melts your heart. Those are the moments you live for. We will post pictures over the next few days but just wanted to let everyone know what's going on. Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Having a Ball

Mia was NOT impressed with the cold weather!

Tuesday night we had our first soccer practice for Ethan. It went pretty well despite the frigid temperature. Ethan seemed to have knack for dribbling the soccer ball but got easily distracted by the girls, especially Kendal. He would kick the soccer ball then decide to go kiss and hug Kendal. We quickly told him there is no hugging & kissing in soccer. Yes he is our Latin Lover and we will need to chaperon all of his social outings until he is at LEAST 25 years old!!! We have one more week of practice before the first game. Hopefully the weather is MUCH warmer and Ethan keeps his eyes on the soccer ball and not the girls!
